MERRITS LODGE
An 80's lodge at Thredbo's Woodridge area was in dire need of an upgrade. The old layout didn't suit a modern ski lodge, so the rooms were changed & re-arranged around a central void & staircase. A new, larger mud room / lobby was created & the main living & dining areas arranged to be convenient to the kitchen. An outdoor undercover BBQ area was added beside the kitchen, with its own outdoor courtyard, perfect for the summer months. The overall renovation created a wonderful flow & feel to the lodge, complimented by a modern decor
Existing floor to ceiling windows were kept to create a light filled day lounge
The old dining room was converted to the master bedroom with private views of the snow gums
A rear courtyard for summer was created adjacent to the kitchen & undercover BBQ area
A 3 sided stone gas fireplace defines the main lounge area
The main lounge room was positioned to be convenient to the kitchen
An undercover outdoor BBQ area was created adjacent to the kitchen
The dining room is defined by the screen, different ceiling plan & lighting
The central stairwell was kept & updated
